Trish appeared in the first three productions of The Irish Arts Center (Two by Synge, Shadow of a Gunman and Wood of the Whispering) in 1974-1975 with Kate Mulgrew, James Handy, Pat McNamara, Nye Heron and Brian Heron.

After a long absence Trish was delighted to perform again at The Irish Arts Center in two wonderful productions, in Brian Friel’s Lovers as Hanna Wilson in 1996 and again in September 2000 as Ma in Locating the Plant by Tim Marks.

Trish had appeared in many roles in America in the theatre, film and television and also in many independent films.

Trish was born in Ireland and grew up in Co. Sligo, Dublin and London before immigrating to America . The times she spent on her grandmother's farm in County Sligo was magic.  She grew up with a love of nature and treasures the memories of her youth in Ireland and of her family. Trish enjoys exploring her adopted country. She has traveled throughout the United States and loves to spend time with her children, grandchildren and her sister in Vermont .

Trish is very grateful to her wonderful family for their love and support.

A little bit of Irish history for the reader of this document.

The family name McGettrick or Ni Sitric, the Irish translation, has an interesting history. The name originated in Ireland from two very colorful characters, the Norse King Olaf Cuaran Sitricsson, King of Dublin – 0981 and the young Irish beauty with long flowing hair,  Gormlaith (Gormflaeth), daughter of Kerbell, King of Leinster - 1030.

Gormlaith was queen of the Danes in Ireland as wife of Olaf; then wife of Malachy II, King of north Ireland ; then wife of Brian Boru, king of Munster who later became king of all Ireland . Her three sons, Sitric King of Dublin , Murdach and Doncadh O'Brian continued to rule in Ireland after The Battle of Clontarf where Brian Boru died in 1014.
